Hired 250+ employees. 8000+ service experts on the supply side. 1000 customers / day on the demand side. #1 market share. Everything was going great.
Until it wasnโt. โ
We had no product-market fit. And bad unit economics. We ran out of money. And had to lay off 99% of our team in 2 months. We shut down all offices and moved back to an apartment.
My list of mistakes is huge. But my people mistakes were the worst. Those still pinch me the most. When the shit hit the fan, I was at my worst. I froze like a deer in headlights. I should have listened to my people more. I should have spent more time in aligning everyone on company goals. Get to know them beyond daily tasks. Slow down a bit and introspect a bit more.
